LEE FORT

Director of the Dance Program

Mr. Fort is a tenured artist in residence at the Montessori Early Learning Center & School of the Arts. He is a classically trained ballet dancer as well as having studied Jazz, tap, modern and gymnastics. Mr. Fort has studied at the prestigious School of American Ballet in N.Y.C. during the summers of '92 & '93. He was offered a scholarship into the Joffrey Ballet Training Program, was accepted into the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts. At NCSA he was a merit scholarship recipient and received his diploma in Dance.

During the summer of 1994 Mr. Fort was one of 28 pre-professional ballet dancers selected by national audition to attend the world renowned Bolshoi Academy on full scholarship. He has recently appeared as the Prince in Cinderella for the Newberry Ballet Guild, in the Peasant Pas from Giselle for Carolina Ballet, in Peter & the Wolf for NC School of the Arts and Casablanca for the Columbia Classical Ballet Company.

He has performed during the 2002 Season as a soloist in Carolina Ballet’s Nutcracker as Snow Cavalier. He was a guest instructor for the Dance Education Center during the summer of 2003.
